Literature have a big role in our life, it can shape our future. And also it serves as vehicle in the refinement of human nature. As a student we must learn, skillful and knowledgeable enough with the different types of literature. Especially to us. Who taking up BEED because we are dealing with the children someday. According to Robert Frost literature is derived from the latin word literatum meaning writing that is characteristically written in noble language depicting deep emotion, passion and inspires thinking. It is also a universal because it transcends race and climate goes beyond a particular locality. Literature place side by side with some major disciplines like physics, medicines and etc. like a mirror literature walking on the road of our life in the future. So let us move on and discuss what is the real thing or meaning about literature. Literature s an imaginative or creative writing. Distinguished writing, with deep sublime, noble feelings, Philosophically, an idealistic work on the human condition.
We must study literature because it is a reflection of human condition and it mirrors the experience we observe everyday in our life. It characterized by timeless and sense of endurance. It includes oral tradition passed on from one generation by word of mouth. So literature is exactly discuss and explain how they shape our future. Literature is the springboard of almost everything. It talks about Philosophy, Religion, Sociology, Politics, Culture and etc. name them and Literature has them. Another role by literature is the integration of values. Literature does not only mold the intellectual faculties of every individual but also his total faculties – the emotional, moral, social, and spiritual faculties thus, developing us into a total and holistic individual. Through literature one knows the culture of the other races which eventually leads us to stop questioning about it. Every individual must learn to accept and understand these varied culture. Aside from the things we mentioned above, you must also understand that as literature students, you are not only given a chance to explore the world through literature but also think that you could also be developed into skilled short story writers, novelist, poets, essayist s and etc. Many found writing not only a hobby or recreation but also their means of livelihood. The principles of literature give us a way to communicate our beliefs, feelings and ideas. We must understand the principles of literature because it can help us, as a readers, to understand not only what is the message , but also how he or she is expressing those ideas. Literature is very important because t opens the portals toward creativity thinking. The learners are become enchanted and more motivated to learn if teacher will exposed to literature. They will crave for more stories either if is fictitious or not and rhymes. Because it is delight on the part of little ones to listen such stories at their young mind. Expertise in literature will make us a creative and meaningful teacher that sooner or later. Works of literature provide an opportunity to look into the hearts and minds of the people who lived in a different time and place. It can create a responsiveness of topic and relevance. The maturity level of a reader and a students. The teachers creativity – fondness for examination and innovation. It is humble enough to accept that literature is a never ending, thankless pursuit of knowledge.
